Nervous about what to expect in a therapy session? Relax. I am a human just like you. The first time we meet, we will discuss why you're seeking counseling and what it is that we can work together to get you through. (Of course there will be some fun paperwork where we discuss my policies, insurance, and payment) From there we will develop a plan clarifying which topics or issues are most important to you. In the sessions following, we will explore your concerns and work towards concrete, tangible steps you can begin to take to improve your situation.  I draw from different counseling approaches based on a client’s personality, so don’t be afraid about having to lie on a couch and talk about your childhood if that worries you! We will work on staying solution focused, meaning that we will work together identifying how the strengths you possess can be used to help you find solutions to your struggles.
