Hi, I'm Weston, and I look forward to meeting you. Life has its tough spots, and sometimes we need a sounding board or words of encouragement to sort it all out. I provide mental health counseling for children, teens, and adults, and am looking forward to seeing if I'm the right counselor for you. I am a husband, a father of three wonderful children, and proud to call myself a New Englander. I can relate to parenting issues, being overwhelmed, depressed, marriage dynamics, and struggles with faith.
When I am not spending time with clients, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, running, reading, and doing projects in my home. I enjoy reading about the rich history of homes in New England and have developed an interest in the restoration process of these old homes.
My wife and I spent several years living in Rhode Island, and while there, I earned my Masters's Degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. After becoming licensed in Rhode Island, I began my private practice in Greenville in 2015. We eventually moved to New Hampshire to build a hobby farm and opened a second practice location in Pittsfield. I plan to continue to grow Hope Counseling Services into a multidisciplinary practice that meets the needs of the surrounding areas.

Hi there! My name is Ericka and I support teens and adults with making sense of their inner and outer world using a combination of traditional and creative arts counseling techniques. I am a queer-affirming and neurodiversity-affirming counselor. I can offer a variety of ways to structure your counseling session, whether in person or virtual. My goal is to support each person I work with in feeling truly comfortable, heard, and supported throughout the healing process.

Hello,
I am Jason, and I am eager to learn all about you and help you navigate many of life’s difficulties. I have thirteen years’ experience working with children ages 5-18 that struggle with mental health issues and have also worked with adults. I am a husband, father, scuba diver, comic collector, and combat veteran. My own journey with therapy led me to the place where I wanted to help others with their struggles. While working the night shift I was able to find time to study and earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Vermont University. While in the service I had the opportunity to travel all over the world and experience many different cultures. During this time, I realized just how much I love to learn about other cultures and that we live on a beautify planet, filled with many different people. I have a strong passion for scuba diving and dive all year long, on some occasions I dive under the ice. Scuba diving played a significant role in my personal therapeutic journey. As it allowed me the opportunity to not just imagine a sensory rich environment, but to fully immerse myself in it. I believe each of us often need the opportunity to discover the best methods, techniques, and treatment modalities that can help us with our struggles and life’s difficulties. I look forward to helping you navigate the next step in your journey.

Hello, I am Heather, and I appreciate the opportunity to meet and work with you. I have lived in New Hampshire for most of my life and am married to my high school sweetheart. We have two children and are now beginning the phase of watching them both become successful young adults. Even though being a parent can be challenging, it has also been the best experience I could have asked for in my life. During my free time, I enjoy being with my family. We try to get together as often as time will allow. I also enjoy games, camping, kayaking, road trips, and swimming.
I hold a Master of Science in Psychology from Walden University and have completed additional graduate studies in Mental Health Counseling for Children and Adolescents with Severe Emotional and Behavioral Issues at Southern New Hampshire University. I have dedicated my career to helping families process through difficult times using positive social and emotional connections. Children are our future and can often teach us just as much as we can teach them. They have every potential to become an amazing and positive person in others’ lives, especially when they have a safe and nurturing environment to build them up.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to see if I may be a good match for your counseling needs. My name is Michael R. Major and I hold a Master of Science degree in Community Mental Health Counseling. I am licensed as both a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), since 2002, and a Master Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MLADC), since 2017.
Essential to my approach in counseling is the establishment of safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship. I bring to my practice an open and collaborative emphasis based on honesty and a willingness to work together toward identified goals in therapy.
My background in many different treatment settings has provided me with many rich experiences working with people of all lifestyles, ethnicities, ages and cultures. I have worked in hospital, local community mental health, inpatient, detox, residential, private practice and college settings.
At Hope Counseling Services I am able to offer counseling to adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions and issues related to using alcohol and drugs in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.
Prior to coming to Hope Counseling Services, I worked for over 10 years counseling young adults in a college setting transitioning to providing counseling to those seeking treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in an outpatient virtual environment.
I am well informed in both 12 Step and MAT approaches to recovery, providing therapy, excluding any court mandated treatment, assessments or reports, for those desiring to work towards building a healthier sober lifestyle. Additionally my career working as a LCMHC has benefited me greatly in helping those individuals explore more deeply the emotional causes and conditions which lead to the difficulties using substances can bring.
Beside providing a supportive and encouraging presence, mindful meditation practices, journaling as well as exploring spiritual resources, are greatly encouraged.
Outside of work, I find peace, satisfaction and enjoyment in nature, vegetable gardening, music, and caring for our dogs.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in treating a variety of conditions, including depression/mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, thought disorders, and substance use disorders. I pride myself on creating an individualized treatment plan developed collaboratively with my patients, using the most effective treatment options, and optimizing the regimen to maximize benefits and limit the possibility of side effects. My evaluations are thorough and comprehensive, focusing on not just current symptoms, but rather a careful assessment of past history, medical conditions, social and family history, and substance use history in an effort to best understand your individual needs, and to be able to recommend the most appropriate treatment approach. My approach combines the science and art of medicine and psychiatry. As a physician certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I utilize evidence-based approaches to the neurobiological underpinnings of specific mental health conditions through medication management. I often combine such interventions with various forms of psychotherapies (talk therapies) as well as other effective treatments that may be helpful.
My goal is to work with you to help you achieve your own goals and regain your life, relationships, and abilities that may have been compromised by your condition. I offer telemedicine to make getting access to treatment convenient and easily able to align your lifestyle.

FAQs

All of our providers are set up to provide teletherapy services via computer. We use a platform that is easy to use and does not require you to download any specific software onto your device. Your provider will discuss with you whether or not your presenting symptoms are a good fit for teletherapy. There are instances wherein certain diagnoses, the age of the client, or other factors affect whether or not the services should be provided in person or via teletherapy.
-
At the first appointment, your provider will obtain a history of your concerns and symptoms. This is highly important to make sure that we gather a full and complete understanding of what your concerns are. There will also be discussion about what your specific goals are, what you can expect from the counseling or medication management process, and how to do things like schedule an appointment, or make a payment. You are encouraged to ask your provider questions about any concerns that you may have.
We understand that mental health treatment may carry a lot of stigma and suspicion for some people, and we want to reassure you that you are welcome to bring up any concerns or questions that you may have about mental disorders, and mental health treatment.
-
We get asked this question quite frequently. Unfortunately, we do not have a set answer. We do know, that a patient who's able to fully engage in counseling services and take medication when it is prescribed, can experience significant Improvement in how they feel. Working to improve your mental health is an admirable endeavor, and takes substantial effort. Each person has a different story and a different set of life Experiences and this affects how quickly someone experiences change.
Some symptoms are more short lived than others and are able to be addressed in a shorter amount of time than say, someone who has a more severe mental illness.

We take many different insurance plans at Hope Counseling Services.
However, before beginning Services we have to verify what type of coverage you have and how much you will have to pay for each appointment that you have. Insurance is becoming increasingly complex and confusing. We highly encourage you to verify your insurance coverage by directly calling your insurance company.
Our services often fall under what is called “mental health coverage or behavioral health coverage” and many times can be different than say the coverage you would have when you see your primary care provider.
-
If you are using Insurance, the cost of your appointment is dictated by the contracted rate that Hope Counseling Services has with your insurance. In a majority of instances, you have a set co-insurance that you will pay for each visit that you have. Prior to your first visit, we will do our best to verify what the cost will be for you. However, we encourage you to double-check this yourself by contacting your insurance company and giving them Hope Counseling’s information, and asking them how much you can expect to pay for each visit.
We do offer a sliding fee scale for those that do not have insurance coverage. You can put a card of some type on file and we can bill you after each appointment. Each provider here has different rates depending on their credentials and the type of appointment that is needed. This can be discussed in more detail with our admin team when you are scheduling your first appointment.
-
Appointment reminders will be sent 1 day prior to your appointment via email. At each session, you will also have the option of receiving a reminder card with the date and time of your next appointment.
Cancellations or missed appointments without 24 hours’ notice will be charged $75. Please know that insurance companies do not reimburse charges for missed appointments.
We will not charge a late cancellation fee due to sudden illness or bad weather that arises. Please note that if your insurance does not allow us to charge you a late cancel/no show fee, we reserve the right to refer you to another practice if you have 2 late cancellations/no shows within a 30-day period.
